Chief Executive Officer

David Horton is co-founder and CEO of NXT Communications Corporation (NXTCOMM), a Georgia-based provider of breakthrough broadband connectivity.

Since 2017, he has led a team of technology visionaries as they transform connectivity for the aero and satcom-on-the-move markets, without the risk of new or unproven antenna technology.

He brings more than two decades of experience in equipment manufacturing in the aerospace and satellite industries, working for industry leaders such as Panasonic, TECOM Industries, ORBIT Communication Systems and EMS Technologies, now part of Honeywell.

Most recently, David oversaw connectivity and antenna technology strategy for Panasonic Avionics’ Global Communications Services in Lake Forest, CA.

David also held senior leadership roles in general management and business development strategy and technology for TECOM Industries, which manufactured antennas for Global Eagle Entertainment. While at EMS Technologies, he oversaw antenna sales for LiveTV and Panasonic Avionics, including Panasonic’s $150M investment in the first-ever IFC broadband antenna for commercial aero use.

A U.S. Air Force veteran, David served a decade on active duty and reserves in the Tactical Air Command Worldwide.


Chairman of the Board

Robert “Scott” Zimmer is chairman of the board for NXT Communications Corporation (NXTCOMM), a Georgia-based provider of breakthrough broadband connectivity.

A global visionary, Scott brings three decades of satellite sector leadership to the advisory team. An early executive of the EchoStar group of companies, Scott launched EchoStar International Corp., serving as its president for a decade and overseeing the launch of EchoStar’s first satellite in China. He later served on the board and advised EchoStar Communications Corp.

Scott also consulted with CEOs at CMMB Vision, a Hong Kong mobile video company; DNK, an Indonesian Industrial Internet of Things company; Digicel, an Irish telecommunications provider; VideoCon, an Indian DTH firm; and CCT, a HK/China-based communications entity. In 2008, he founded LEAP3, a global project management firm.

More recently, Scott has served as executive director of the Telluray Foundation, a private family foundation that drives sustainable, scalable change in healthcare, education and conservation in Colorado.

Prior to entering the satellite sector at age 26, Scott taught at Hong Kong International School. He holds a M.S. in International Management from Thunderbird International Business School, a BA in Teaching and Asian Studies from St. Olaf College and speaks Mandarin Chinese.


Chief Commercial Officer

Stephen (Steve) Newell is Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) for NXT Communications Corporation (NXTCOMM), a Georgia-based provider of breakthrough broadband connectivity. In this role, he leads sales, business development and product marketing efforts for the company's next-generation connectivity products.

He was VP of Business Development for FLYHT Aerospace Solutions, Ltd., an Iridium provider of real-time insights into aircraft performance to improve aviation safety and efficiency. At FLYHT, he secured a major contract to provide satellite communications equipment for production line fit at Bombardier.

As Chief Commercial Officer at TrueNorth Avionics (now owned by Satcom Direct), a cabin telephony supplier to business aviation, Steve oversaw business development, sales, marketing and product management. In this role, he helped TrueNorth capture a dominant OEM position for cabin networking equipment with leading manufacturers, including Honeywell, Collins Aerospace and Bendix-King.

Steve also was CEO of Mission Mobility, LLC., a leading provider of rugged network solutions, serving the needs of warfighters for mission-critical communications. Pivotal management experience at EMS Technologies (now part of Honeywell) included serving as General Manager of LXE and as VP of Satcom Sales for the firm’s SATCOM Division in Ottawa.

Prior to working in technology, Steve was a submarine officer in the U.S. Navy, serving on the USS Bremerton (SSN-698) and in Sardinia as the Submarine Squadron 22 Weapons Officer.

Curtis Reusser is a member of the board for NXT Communications Corporation (NXTCOMM), a Georgia-based provider of breakthrough broadband connectivity.

With a track record for driving profitability in large-scale businesses during periods of rapid growth and transition, Curtis brings to NXTCOMM more than 30 years of executive and general management experience in the aerospace and defense industry.

Most recently, he served as president, CEO and chairman of the board at Esterline Technologies, retiring after its successful $4B sale to Transdigm in 2019.

Prior to joining Esterline in 2013, Curtis was president of the Aircraft Systems business within United Technologies (UTC), a role created after his key role guiding regulatory efforts for UTC’s successful acquisition of Goodrich Corporation, then the largest aerospace acquisition in U.S. history. He previously was president of Goodrich’s Electronic Systems Segment.

Post-merger, he oversaw seven strategic business units generating over $7B in revenues and helped secure multiple long-term programs while driving financial and operational performance.

He spent five years as president of Aerostructures at Goodrich, nearly doubling its sales to aircraft OEMs in that time. Earlier in his career, he served as an engineer with General Dynamics - Convair and Space Systems divisions.

A lean manufacturing expert , Curtis holds a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Washington.

Lawrence (Larry) Soriano is a member of the board for NXT Communications Corporation (NXTCOMM), a Georgia-based provider of breakthrough broadband connectivity.

Since 1998 Larry has served as president of Western Pioneer, Inc. Key accomplishments include helping the family-owned, diversified company achieve debt-free status and strengthening its core retail and real estate businesses in Alaska and Seattle, including its thriving Alaska Ship Supply retail grocery and marine supply store.

In addition to overseeing the company’s day-to-day operations, Larry builds strategic customer relationships while ensuring a strong culture of teamwork. Prior roles spanned marketing, sales and operations management.

He comes from an entrepreneurial family with a 40-year heritage serving Alaska’s dynamic fisheries trade. In college he worked on freighters going from Seattle to Alaska and the Bering Sea, an experience that reinforced to him the need for maritime boat operators to have reliable connectivity.

With expertise in team-building, problem solving and goal setting, Larry has a M.Div. in psychology and religion from Yale University, an M.A. and PhD in clinical psychology from Fordham University and a B.A. in speech communications from the University of Washington.

He’s active in several fisheries industry groups, including the Alaska Fisheries Development Foundation, where he served as a board member, and the Northwest Fisheries Association, where he is a past president. He currently serves on the Global Ocean Health Work Group, whose mission is to protect seafood supplies, coastal communities and marine ecosystems from ocean acidification and climate change.




Chief Technology Officer

Carl Novello serves as Chief Technology Officer for NXT Communications Corporation (NXTCOMM), a Georgia-based provider of breakthrough mobile broadband connectivity products and services.

Carl is 20-year satellite antenna technology veteran who brings advanced satellite communications, system and RF antenna design and test expertise. He oversees product engineering, design and test development for NXTCOMM’s line of advanced electronically steered antennas that will deliver unprecedented broadband connectivity to aircraft and other mobile platforms.

Most recently he served as VP of Product Management, Intellian Technologies, where he led development of Intellian’s tri-band, multi-orbit maritime VSAT antenna system with ground-breaking antenna technology.

At Kymeta, Carl led product engineering and design for flat panel ESA antennas for the mobile marketplace. Previously Carl oversaw maritime connectivity solutions product development at Panasonic and led sales and engineering efforts at Harris CapRock Communications, ComSat Mobile Communications and Sealink / Telenor Satellite Services.


Chief Financial Officer

Mitch Crowe serves as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for NXT Communications Corporation (NXTCOMM), a Georgia-based provider of breakthrough mobile broadband connectivity products and services.

Mitch’s nearly three-decade finance career has spanned a variety of for-profit and not-for-profit entities. He brings integrity and transparency to NXTCOMM investors and partners as well as an end-user customer perspective to NXTCOMM.

Besides overseeing NXTCOMM’s financial functions, Crowe supports legal affairs and investor and management communications for the firm.

He began his accounting career at Ernst & Young in 1989, where he audited financial operations for a diverse range of clients in the airline, manufacturing, insurance, banking and healthcare industries.

Most recently, he served as Founder and CEO of The Ampersand Company, LLC., leading client development and growth strategies. As CFO of Atlanta-based In Touch Ministries, Inc., Mitch led the organization to a 37% increase in total revenue by creating a results-oriented culture.

Mitch also served as controller for print mail packaging RFID equipment provider.


Senior Strategic Adviser

Gene Joles is a senior strategic adviser to NXT Communications Corporation (NXTCOMM), a Georgia-based provider of breakthrough mobile broadband connectivity products and services.

Gene is the former President/COB of TECOM Industries Incorporated, a SMITHS Group Interconnect Company. Possessing more than four decades of experience in RF Microwave and Power electronics design and manufacturing, Gene has delivered superior outcomes leading growth, transformation, integration, and innovation for high-tech electronics businesses.

He has built collaborative, high-performance teams serving the global defense, space, and commercial markets, where he has delivered superior technology and financial outcomes for companies such as Smiths Group, Cobham, Crane Co., Signal Technology Corp., M/A COM Inc. and Omni Spectra Inc. He previously served as SVP/GM for Cobham Defense Electronics Systems, VP/GM for Crane Aerospace, and President for Signal Technology Corporation.

A U.S. Air Force veteran, Gene holds a BSBA (MCL) from the University of Phoenix, and is an executive program graduate of Stanford University Graduate School of Business. He’s active in the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX), American Electronics Association (AEA), Association of Old Crows (AOC), and LEAN Enterprise Institute (LEI).


Vice President of Aero Structures and Certification

David Kozlowski is Vice President of Aero Structures and Certification for NXT Communications Corporation (NXTCOMM), a Georgia-based provider of breakthrough broadband connectivity.

David oversees installation, testing and certification of NXTCOMM’s AeroMax® antenna on commercial aircraft and manages key Maintenance and Repair Organization (MRO) partnerships, reporting to Dave Horton, Chief Executive Officer.

David most recently worked for Panasonic Avionics, where he spent a decade holding key roles in installation and product management. He oversaw successful Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) approvals for Panasonic’s

Global Communications Suite (GCS) inflight connectivity systems on Boeing and Airbus commercial and VIP aircraft.

With over four decades of aircraft modification and maintenance experience, David has served in a variety of senior leadership maintenance operation roles, including for MRO facilities, asset management companies and commercial airlines.


Director, Product Engineering

Robert Davies is Director of Product Engineering for NXT Communications Corporation (NXTCOMM), a Georgia-based provider of breakthrough broadband connectivity, reporting to Carl Novello, Chief Technology Officer.

Rob brings nearly 15 years of product management expertise in the antenna, asset tracking, security and contract manufacturing industries to his role at NXTCOMM. He oversees the development and testing of NXTCOMM’s line of electronically steerable antennas, as well as guide efforts to enhance the manufacturability of the panel.

Rob most recently held technical product and systems engineering roles at satellite antenna provider Intellian Technologies, Inc., where he drove improvements to existing antennas leading to better performance and identified market needs and requirements for vertical market products. Before the Satcom world, Rob served as a service management and lead technician roles for in maritime, and as a project manager and systems developer/programmer for a leading security integrator.

He previously founded R&D Technologies, which developed one of the first digital video recorders that enabled digital time-lapse and transmission in the security markets.

Rob has a Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies/Paralegal from Westwood College. He earned his Certified Service Manager and Certified Marine Technician credentials from Mercury Marine University and studied Electronic Technology at Irvine Valley College.


Creative Director

Jordan Klein is Creative Director for NXT Communications Corporation (NXTCOMM), a Georgia-based provider of breakthrough broadband connectivity, reporting to David Horton, Chief Executive Officer.

Jordan brings the company’s capabilities to life visually across all marketing assets while also providing user interface design and hardware design support to product engineering.

Jordan brings more than a decade of creative design experience in the startup, software development and agency world.

Most recently, he founded and served as creative director for Ghost Pxl, an agency specializing in product design, software development and brand identity for clients in the defense, tech and hospitality industries. Under his leadership, the firm grew from two to 12 staff and developed a portfolio of 45 clients, including the U.S. Air Force, Skype, Microsoft and DocuSign.

Prior to Ghost Pxl, Jordan served as Creative Director for RIZE Technology Corp., a global mobile and web application development company.

Jordan earned his Certification in Industrial and Product Design from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
